Press Release 2009 PDF Print E-mail

Preparations for Carnival 2009 have started considerably earlier than usual to enable the remaining Committee members to cope with the increased workload.  Unfortunately, three key Committee members have moved away from the village due to work relocations. This leaves the Carnival with just FOUR full members to organise nine days of events!!

We are, however, lucky enough to be aided by a few sterling individuals who help out with organising an event for us, such as the five-a-side football or the dog show. Others help with registration of entries at an event, crowd/vehicle control, delivering programmes, or by lending a little muscle to help set up the field on Carnival Day… Have you ever fancied organising a car treasure hunt? This year will be the last if we cant find someone to take up the challenge!! These are just a few examples of how YOU could help, and of course you would receive all the help and experience of the Committee that you need.  Naturally we would welcome anyone who wanted to join our Committee and help save the Carnival from impending doom, but any offers of help, in whatever form, would be equally welcomed.

Somersham Carnival Needs YOU!

If you feel that you could spare a little of your time, or if you just want to discuss an idea, PLEASE contact Theresa on 843642 or Viv on 840034.
